Project produced over 6 months during the FIAP challenge in partnership with Vivo KEYD. The team consisted of 5 people.

Rhythm Shiba is a rhythm game with elements of roguelike and traditional 2D animation. Bits is a shiba who had his plush toy taken (to the laundry). To rescue his favorite toy, he will follow the path and face obstacles and enemies along the way with the help of his fish friend. The idea is to present the world from the dog's perspective.

Concept

The game consists of horizontal tracks, between which the player can move, but they always remain in the first position. Enemies will move from right to left. The goal is to progress through the stage by attacking and dodging enemies and obstacles in time with the music.

The player takes damage if they try to hit an enemy and miss the rhythm of the music when pressing the button. Dodging is also part of the game's strategy, as it does not pose any problems.

The character's attack is carried out in the area in front of them. If the button is pressed within a time window around the ideal time, the damage will be counted, and the enemy will be pushed back two positions behind them.

If the attack is performed outside the rhythm's opportunity window, the player will take damage from the enemy, who will then disappear. After depleting the life, the game will end the stage in defeat.

Defeating an enemy rewards points, and achieving a certain amount of points unlocks paw marks, representing the final stage grade. In other words, the player can try to finish a level without defeating anyone, but their score will be low.

Paw points can be used to exchange for upgrades in the witch's shop, which is always available in the level selection menu.

The game stages are saved with JSON extension, making it easy for the community to customize and create levels.

After completing the levels in one region, another would be unlocked with a different theme and its own peculiarities.
